Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee to take the stand of Linden COI

When Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee takes the stand on Wednesday morning at the Linden Commission of Inquiry hearing, you can bet that the Opposition parties will be paying close attention. In fact two of the leading attorneys at the Commission serve in senior positions in the opposition parties, the APNU and the AFC. You would recall that the APNU and the AFC  used their combined majority in the National Assembly to move and pass a no confidence motion in the Home Affairs Minister following the July 18th Linden incident.

The Government has not acted on the No confidence motion and Rohee remains a Minister in the Government and a Member of the National Assembly. Today Opposition Leader David Granger said, when it comes to Rohee, the Opposition’s position is known. They still have no confidence in him.

The Opposition Leader said under the Home Affairs Minister, there has not been much change to the way the Police Force has been going about its business and the Minister must understand his responsibility.

The Opposition parties have been pressing the Government to remove the Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee from that office.
