Several staff members of the Guyana Elections Commission’s Accounts Department have been taken into custody following the disappearance of approximately five million dollars.
Crime Chief Wendel Blanhum in an invited comment confirmed that several GECOM employees were assisting with the investigation into an alleged simple larceny.
It is not known when the money disappeared.
