Guyana’s Ambassador in Suriname is in contact with the authorities in French Guiana on the Coretta Blair Sandy aka Mindy alleged murder case. The French are seeking the extradition of the suspect Terrence Glasgow aka Petit who was detained by the Guyanese police after he made a false claim that the woman was shot dead in Suriname.
The 34-year-old woman, Coretta Blair Sandy known as Mindy was found dead in Matoury French Guiana with several stab wounds about her body. The gruesome discovery was made behind the house where she and her ‘husband’ lived.
The couple were due in Guyana last week. He turned up alone. He told her family that they were caught in a shootout in Suriname. He said she was killed in that shoot out and he fled. The family reported the matter to the police in Guyana. The police detained him at the Cove and John Station.
Trisha Blair-Sandy, the mother of dead woman from Golden Grove expressed concern about the detention of the suspect. Guyanese police have a specific period within which they could hold a suspect during an investigation. Now that the investigation has led to the discovery of the woman’s body the process to extradite the suspect is expected to be followed by the authorities in French Guiana and Guyana.
