Women around the world will gather at the United Nations Headquarters in New York come September for the 30th Anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women.

This year’s meeting will be held under the theme, “Recommitting to, resourcing and accelerating the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls”.

The high-level meeting will underscore the achievements, best practices and gaps in policies; review of the progress made while assessing current challenges and identify the actions needed to protect and empower women and girls.

The session which will be convened by the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations bringing together non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations, and academic institutions.
