The Guyana Police Force this morning issued an updated wanted bulletin for the suspect believed to have planted an explosive device at the Regent Street Mobil Station. The blast claimed the life of six-year-old Soraya Bourne and injured several others, including four of her family members.
According to the bulletin, the suspect is wanted for Terrorism, contrary to Section 309 A (1)(B)(i) of the Criminal Law Offences Act, Chapter 8:01. While police have released what they describe as an actual image of the man responsible, his identity remains unknown. This latest image follows earlier releases, including a blurred photo and an AI-enhanced version.
Meanwhile, police confirmed that three individuals—including a Venezuelan national—are currently in custody in connection with the explosion. Investigators, acting on CCTV footage analysis, intercepted a motor vehicle bearing registration number PSS 7874, which was reportedly used to transport one of the suspects. The vehicle was located, and the three individuals were subsequently arrested.
Authorities say key information has been obtained from those in custody, although the main suspect remains at large. Additionally, the force said Roberto Fuentes, the registered owner of the vehicle for whom a wanted bulletin was issued remains in custody.
Fuentes, who turned himself in, stated via Facebook that he had sold the car but was never contacted by the new owner to transfer the registration.
