Lots more is happening in the Southern District Court that will affect Guyana. All of what is happening for now is either sealed or restricted from public view.
This is in relation to the current case involving nearly sworn in Member of Parliament Azruddin Mohamed as a member of the Opposition in Guyana.
Just yesterday, the same day that Parliament convened, according to the court’s docket two new entries were made under seal/restriction. On November 3 2025 the court’s electronic filing system recorded Docket entries 6 and 7. It is highly likely that those refer to both arrest warrants and extradition requests. Last month on the 24th, the US Federal Court made two entries 4 and 5, one week later the Guyana Government moved to arrest both Azruddin and his father Nazar aka Shell Mohamed on allegations made in that District court in Florida. The arrests and extradition proceedings occurred on Friday October 31st. Both Mohameds were granted bail.
Guyana’s Attorney General Senior Counsel Anil Nandlall appeared on Government Television and indicated that he had been told that more extradition requests were expected this week.
If the new sealed entries are for individuals it is anticipated that the Guyana Government will move with the same alacrity and manner to arrest and bring before the court those persons.
The Member of Parliament is facing 7 counts in the Federal Court. Two counts of wire and mail fraud, the others are all conspiracy related to the same wire, mail fraud and money laundering. One of those counts is linked to the importation of a Lamborghini. The new MP and presumptive Leader of the Opposition Azruddin Mohamed turned up to Parliament in the same Lamborghini.
