President Irfaan on Monday afternoon sworn into office his Prime Minister Retired Brigadier Mark Phillips and Vice President Bharrat as he begins the process of forming his cabinet to assist him with managing the affairs of the country. 
During his remarks President Ali said the two appointments represent the first of many that will be made in the days to come. 

According to the president, Prime Minister Phillips brings with him a wealth of experience while going on to describe his Vice President Jagdeo as being a leader of the people. 

President Ali was sworn in for a second five-year term on Sunday after his People’s Progressive Party secured 36 seats in the National Assembly.
