A thirty-eight-year-old farmer on the run for murder for the last eleven years was finally caught. The man Bennie Adams of Cambelltown Village, Potaro, Region 8 (Potaro-Siparuni) was arrested on the 19 of January and placed before the court on Thursday to answer for the killing of Gilbert Adams.

Bennie Adams then 27-year-old allegedly killed Gilbert Adams in May of 2013 in the indigenous village of Manawarin, North West District, Region 1 (Barini-Waini).

The accused was not required to plead when he appeared before Ravendra Mohabir virtually in the Acquero Magistrates’ Court, North West District where the charge was read to him following which he was placed on custodial remand.

He will return to court on March 3 when the matter will be called for statements.
