Four persons are now in police custody in connection to Sunday’s killing of construction worker Rondell Clarke.

Attorney Dexter Todd who is representing the interests of Clarke’s relatives said two police officers and two security guards have been detained.

The attorney has however said persons in the community who may have heard something should come forward and give statements.

Clarke, according to a statement from the Guyana Police Force, was shot between 7:30 and 7:43pm on Sunday.

Initially a security guard attached to a private security company Force’s Security Service was taken into custody. When questioned the head of the police corporate communication unit did provide any answers as to whether members of the force were arrested in connection with Clarke’s killing.

Clarke’s relatives are demanding a thorough investigation be conducted into his death. Reports are that the first security guard taken into custody told investigators that had fired two shots in the air.
