Democratic Leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, is calling for a full and fair investigation into the mysterious death of Adriana Younge, a case that has sparked outrage both domestically and abroad.
On Sunday the Younge family received a US Congressional Honor on behalf of Adriana at the Guyana Independence Parade and celebration on June 1, 2025, in Brooklyn.
The first autopsy by three independent pathologists found that Younge died from drowning; a second autopsy conducted in the United States has determined that the circumstances surrounding her death were suspicious.
Meanwhile, Retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigator Leonard McCoshen, in a report on the matter said “After spending a considerable amount of time reviewing all of the evidence and information that has been provided to him, he believes that there is no evidence of foul play in this matter by persons named or unnamed in the investigational information that I was provided.
Younge vanished during a family outing at the Double Day Hotel in Tuschen, on the West Bank of Essequibo. Despite extensive searches of the hotel and its swimming pool, the child remained missing until her body surfaced in the same pool nearly 20 hours later, to the shock and anger of her family and residents.
