The Guyana Police Force on Wednesday issued a wanted bulletin for 19-year-old Niphi Richmond in connection to murder and escape from lawful custody.
According to the bulletin Niphi Richmond is wanted for the murder of Kevin Campbell who was killed in March of 2020.
Richmond, then 14 and a 13-year-old were taken to the Juvenile Holding Centre in Sophia in connection to Campbell’s killing. The two were among a gang of thirteen accused of chopping and stabbing at his Sophia home. Campbell succumbed to his injuries in the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation a few days later.
Last year two men – Kaprese Nobrega, 22, and Shay Carter, 30 were handed life imprisonment for Campbell’s death.
In September of 2022 Richmond and three others escaped the holding centre on two separate occasions. The year before seven escaped from the facility. We reached out to the police force for information on how many of the then juveniles were recaptured and have received no response.
