A suspect has been taken into custody and a wanted bulletin issued for another in connection to the shooting of Lolita Callender called Lola Doll, a local Cosmologist and entertainer.

Callender, a mother of four was shot multiple times about her body on late Saturday night as she sat inside her car which was parked in front of her Texas Square, East Ruimveldt home.

The incident which was caught on surveillance footage showed a lone gunman in a hoodie at the side of the car where six explosions could be heard. The man then fled the scene on a motorcycle which was parked nearby.

According to the police, Callender sustained wounds to her neck, face, hands, and right leg.

Reports are that Callender underwent surgery at the Georgetown Public Hospital where it is reported that her condition has improved.

As the police force confirmed the arrest of a suspect, it issued a wanted bulletin for a second suspect Paul Daby Jr. called Randell in connection to the shooting.

According to the wanted bulletin, Randell is wanted on an allegation of attempted murder.

 The police force is asking anyone with information about Daby’s location to contact the nearest police station.

Daby, whose address is D’ Agurar Park in the city, was earlier this year sanctioned by the United States for his involvement in the drug trade.

Daby, according to the United States, is a major player in the illegal drug industry in Guyana.

Meanwhile, her attorney Anastasia N. Sanford in a statement on Sunday evening has asked

that the privacy of Callender and her family be respected.

According to Sanford’s open letter, Callender’s family is asking that persons in possession of recording of her in a state of nakedness while receiving treatment to stop sharing and to delete it also.
