Deposed Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro will appear in a federal court in Manhattan at noon today-1 p.m. local time in Guyana.

Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were taken into custody by U.S. law enforcement following a coordinated military operation in Venezuela.

He is expected to face multiple charges associated with Narco‑terrorism conspiracy; Cocaine importation conspiracy; Weapons offenses and Money laundering.

Maduro is accused of leading the Cartel de Los Soles for more than two decades. According to the indictment, the cartel used Venezuela’s military, intelligence services, and state institutions to protect drug shipments, bribe officials, and supply Colombia’s FARC rebel group with military‑grade weapons.
